We’re currently offering paid internships in the following areas:
Communications / Content Intern: Support the NYDLA through storytelling, copywriting, feature writing, news reporting, blog writing, ad copy and content development. This role strengthens voice, tone, journalistic and research skills while helping tell NYDLA’s story through blogs, feature stories, email, etc.
Graphic Design / Multimedia: Assist with and create email graphics, social graphics, print and digital designs and more. Must have strong time-management and organizational skills, a good understanding of graphic design, proficiency in Adobe software, and a passion to tell the stories of NYDLA members, vendors, sponsors, alumni, faculty and staff through graphic design.
Marketing Cloud: The Marketing Cloud Intern supports the NYDLA marketing team on strategic email initiatives, including HTML email coding and updates, KPI reporting, audits, A/B testing, journey creation and Salesforce support. Reporting to the Marketing Cloud Administrator, this student role requires strong organization, communication and time-management skills, with the ability to manage shifting priorities and align work to goals.
Marketing Data Science & Analytics: Be responsible for projects in the domains of market research, data management, visualization, and analysis. Learn new BI and analytics tools. This experience can be paid or for credit. Projects may range in duration from 8–16 weeks. Opportunities for continuing work may be available but are not guaranteed — subject to availability and performance.
Photography / Multimedia: Support the NYDLA team with multimedia projects, including capturing photos of vendors/sponsors/staff as well as at events both in NYC. Capture, edit and deliver photos and videos to support the school’s print and digital marketing materials. Candidates should have a good understanding of photography, the basics of video, and proficiency in Adobe software.
Salesforce Intern: Support the NYDLA through hands-on work in Salesforce, including data management, reporting, automation support, and user assistance. Reporting to the Salesforce Administrator, this role builds practical skills in CRM systems, business process design, project management, and problem-solving while helping maintain and improve tools used by various NYDLA teams. Ideal for students who are detail-oriented, curious about IT systems and data, and interested in how technology supports organizational goals.
Social Media: Assist with the day-to-day maintenance of NYDLA social media accounts. Be responsible for the planning and creation of student takeovers, videos, campaigns, etc. Schedule posts in Sprout Social and monitor comments, direct messages, and tagged posts. Track metrics (followers, post engagement, etc.) to be reviewed by the team and influence future decision making.
Web Design: Assist with the day-to-day maintenance of the NYDLA websites. Tasks include applying brand design and layouts to existing and new content. Working on web requests submitted via our ticket system. Learning about and following search engine and AI optimizations and best practices, then applying them to pages. Checking content and fixing broken links, compliance with ADA accessibility requirements, and other errors. Experience with both HTML and CSS is required, experience with JavaScript is preferred. This internship requires 12 hours per week of commitment.
