My Story:
I wasn’t groomed for music. I played volleyball for as long as I can remember (my parents met on the court). As a result, my story sounds similar to High School Musical – a jock secretly expressing himself through music and grows more comfortable showing his true colors.
I’m distracted by what makes a good song – the distance between notes and the phrase that sticks to your brain while you fall asleep. I care about the proper use of words, particularly in songs.
At the end of 2014 I made a goal to write 40 songs within 6 months. Since then I wrote more than 190, and some of them are really bad… and you’ll probably never hear them.
I hoped that if I wrote that many I’d have a few we could all enjoy.
That brings us to the present. It’s an exciting time to realize that this career (and life) is about more than making songs. It’s about making allies and friends and speaking to people’s hearts. I could use a friend, and some heart. If you see me, please say hi 🙂
